Walking & Hiking

The 2.75 mile long Bognor Regis Promenade is a great place to start with endless sea views and fresh seaside air.
Bognor Regis beach is fantastic to walk along at low tide. You can walk to Climping to the East or Pagham to the West. Pagham Harbour Nature Reserve is a great place to walk. For the more adventurous, the South Downs National Park has over 600 acres to explore with beautiful country and coastal views.

There are six Heritage trails to give you some of the history as you stroll through the town. See the Heritage Trails Website for more information.

Cycling

As well as being able to cycle along the promenade, the area of Bognor Regis has a number of local villages to explore on a bicycle. Also there is a friendly cycling club in Bognor Regis that have regular meets.

Bird Watching

Being a coastal resort, Bognor Regis has many sea birds to observe. Pagham Harbour Nature Reserve to the west of the town centre has mud flats, reed beds and other habitats that many species of migratory birds flock to. The Arundel Wetlands Centre in Arundel is another popular choice to visit.

Fishing

As one would expect, fishing in Bognor Regis is very popular. From the beach you can catch dogfish, pouting and Dover sole with the occasional large bass and maybe a thornback ray or smooth hound.

Fossil Hunting

Bognor Regis has a unique beach that has an underlayer called London Clay. This layer is very good for fossil hunting, particularly to the west of Bognor Regis Pier on the beach towards Aldwick.
